This week Chay and Ryan recap their Summer Slam weekend from Minneapolis. Brooks plays the role of interviewer, and he lays out a nice Q&A for his co-hosts. In the episode we cover events leading up to Summer Slam, meet and greet experiences, indies and of course Summer Slam itself.

Thank you for listening to our podcast!

SPEAKER_03

What's up guys? Welcome back to the Three Stitches to Marks podcast. This is episode 29. As always, your three marks, your three hosts. It's Shay. I'm here with Brooks and I'm here with Ryan. What's up, guys?

SPEAKER_02

What's up?

SPEAKER_03

That was not planned. That was good. I know, I know, yeah. It's pretty cool. So this week, we're gonna take a slightly different format from what we normally do, because normally we pick a topic uh per host and we talk about each topic as a group. But this week, uh, since two of us were at SummerSlam this past weekend, Shay and Ryan were at SummerSlam this past weekend, and then Brooks was watching from home. So Brooks had an idea to basically do like a QA style show, right? So he has like a list of questions that he's going to ask us about our weekend, our experience, and how things was in Minneapolis. So that's what we're going to go with today. So for the most part, uh Brooks is going to lead the conversation for this episode, and Ryan and I are just gonna sit here and and act like celebrities and just you know answer questions.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I'm I'm gonna be Chris Vantleet, and you guys are gonna be the superstars. Uh all right. Well, I guess let's just start it off. How was Minneapolis as a whole? What kind of cool things did y'all get to see do while you were there?

SPEAKER_03

Minneapolis was lovely.

SPEAKER_00

In my weather was good and um it was a little hot most some of the days, but honestly, like it was still pretty nice. Um downtown Minneapolis, which is really cool, which me and Shay discovered, I think kind of early, but a little bit late in because we took a trip to downtown and we were like trying to find a place to eat. And a lot of the buildings from the convention center all the way to the stadium were kind of connected with these skywalks, so you didn't even have to leave the buildings, you could just walk through each of the buildings to get to like you're walking past offices or even like little strip malls. It it was very convenient because realistically it would take you a little bit, but realistically you can go from the convention center in downtown all the way to the stadium just by going through these skywalls. So it was very convenient, a lot of food places, a lot of options.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's pretty cool. They then not have to go back outside part.

SPEAKER_00

Like we we it's not normal, I would guess. I took, I'm not sure if I took a picture or a video, but we did walk past Jazzware's offices. Like literally their front door to their offices. And what else what else did we walk past? We walked past like another toy um office or something. Who I can't remember what it was.

SPEAKER_01

It's in Minneapolis, that's where um obviously the Gagnes are there. So is Powertown up there? Like, do they have their stuff up in that area? Because I know he was one of the like owners of the company.

SPEAKER_03

They're not important enough to have an office in a building.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair. We see some old like AWA offices just burnt to the ground or something.

SPEAKER_03

Right. So so oddly, uh, because I used to work for Target, you know, years ago, we freaking walk right by the the corporate office. And I was like, oh, this is where all the the bougie uh corporate people they are centered out of there, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, yeah. Makes sense why like uh the Target Center or the Target field or whatever it is that the twins play in. Yeah, that would make sense.

SPEAKER_03

Um so before you before you go any further, like Ryan, he asked about what we did while we were there. You have to tell him about the show, the other shows.

SPEAKER_00

So we did um so Friday night we went to Mall of America and First Wrestling was doing so first wrestling is the local promotion in down in downtown or in Minneapolis. Um they run most of their shows um out of this I forgot what it was called. It's called like First Avenue or something like that. It's where I guess Prince did um his stuff at.

SPEAKER_01

Are they the ones that have been running the Nitros?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

In the Mall of America? Okay.

SPEAKER_00

So we so um Friday night went to went to the Mall of America now uh you could realistically go there for free, but it me and Shea paid tickets, or I mean I bought I bought the tickets to we can go in the second level. If I would have known, like I should have known, like honestly, we didn't even have to pay for tickets because we were on the bottom floor and we were watching like the second half of the show from the bottom. Like we were just standing, but still, like if you really wanted to pay and support the show, then you could have done that. But man, it was super cool just to like see um like how many people they got, and there was a lot of locals there because the wrestlers I didn't know that weren't um that like because there was GCW guys there, there was like Eddie Kingston was there. Everyone knew who those big names were, but I didn't know the local talent, and everyone seemed to knew who the local talent were.

SPEAKER_01

Did I see a picture of Jucian Thunder Liger?

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. So he was there the the wrestler just making so they did like a um I thought he retired like 17 times.

SPEAKER_00

So what was the guy's name that came out first, Shay?

SPEAKER_03

Sonny Ono.

SPEAKER_00

Sonny Ono came with that's all Shay even popped a little bit. Shea even.

SPEAKER_01

That's just one of those names you wouldn't expect to see.

SPEAKER_00

No, they did, they were doing like a battle royal, and then Juice and Liger came out and were like, what the heck? Like, I I was like, what the heck? Like I wasn't I wasn't like expecting that, and I'm I was kind of confused for a minute, but it was just to get I guess like a I guess for like a throwback for like a WCW throwback. So they had Juice and Liger, yeah. Um and then that show main event with this is probably like a a very underrated match that probably won't get seen by a lot of people, but it was Gringo Loco, Amazing Red, L Clone, and then uh Venegor or Vegnador or whatever his name is. I think he's wrestled in so it was all four of them in the main event. Um that was really cool. That was really that was a really fun match.

SPEAKER_01

I think I saw a picture you took pictures with Gringo Loco and Amazing Red.

SPEAKER_00

And the L clone. I didn't take a picture of of Vegador. I was like, I don't even know that guy that well. So I took out pictures of everyone else, which is really cool. Um that was fun. I also got like a nice picture of like um of like the overview, not from the fourth level, but for majority of just to see like a just to like this is how the well it was nice, like all these fans, man, like it could have been like 300 people at least, just in the middle of the mall watching wrestling. It was it was really cool. So I can mo check that off my bucket list of seeing a wrestling show inside Mall of America. Yeah, that's that's a pretty cool wrestling bucket list item.

SPEAKER_01

Um speaking of pictures, this is a little or slightly off the uh the pre-SummerSlam topic, but how many pairs of underwear did you go through when you met or Tatum Paxley? Oh my gosh. None. I know you're a big fan. You're a big fan.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, she was she was she was cool. I just didn't know what to say. I wish I would have brought like a Tatum Paxley shirt or something like that.

SPEAKER_01

Shea, was it as awkward as when he met the inspiration or the iconics?

SPEAKER_03

So I I wasn't there, he was behind uh a curtain and everything.

SPEAKER_01

So because like I remember him meeting the iconics at WrestleCon and him just being awkward as hell.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, I didn't know what to say. I don't know what to say to some of these wrestlers. I did like something like we'll we'll get more back on topic of this because when there was we ended up going to GCW on Saturday before uh Summerslam night one. Um and that was cool. GCW's was um collabing with that first wrestling promotion, which they were doing all weekend. And that uh we me and Shay missed out on it, but at the end of the GCW show, because me and J me and Shay are just trying to get out of there so we can beat the crowd to go to SummerSlam. But Joe Gacy showed up at the at the end um challenge challenging Atticus Coger for the G CW World title at their upcoming uh at their upcoming homecoming in a couple weeks. So Joe Gacy showed up which I m we which we missed out on because we were just trying to get out of there. We also didn't want to get stuck um ten minutes away or so from the stadium by not being able to lift, but it was a quick trip to to lift. Um but yeah, so and that that GW show was at the um place I was talking about about where Prince did all of his stuff. Shea was getting his ear talked off by one of the event workers the whole most of the time. I'm sure he really enjoyed that.

SPEAKER_01

I I know how he is about random people talking to him.

SPEAKER_00

I feel bad because like I was like, I I could I didn't know what to do. I could have saved him, but I didn't know what to do. That's when you're like, hey man, we gotta go, and then just walk somewhere after what's the one.

SPEAKER_03

But we didn't have anywhere to go. Just just walk like five feet away from the desk. We had a like perfect view from the balcony. There weren't many other balcony spaces for us to move, so that's fair.

SPEAKER_00

I mean, at least they were nice though, they weren't like rude or anything, they just they just kept on they just kept on talking about all the furry wrestlers or something like that. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_03

Um but but anyways, let's all right, let's let's keep it going for the sake of the show.

SPEAKER_01

Uh I was gonna say how how was what WWE TakeOver now? I guess it's WWE World has changed their name.

SPEAKER_03

So so I think they're gonna call it TakeOver for like shows that aren't like WrestleMania. Okay, right, because it's it's not as big as WWE World, it's a slightly uh smaller, um a slightly smaller version of what WWE World would have been, right? Yeah because I I talked to a few people and they were like uh this is kind of underwhelming. It's like pretty small in here, and I'm like, well, you know, it's not WrestleMania. There's there's not you know 60,000 people here, right? We're right, we have 30,000 people, so you don't really need something like massive like world. But from my perspective, it it felt like WWE World to me. They had most of the same attractions, like the thing that Ryan jumped off of to do the the splash. Um they had the entrance, huh?

SPEAKER_01

They had the entrance, the performance superstars entrance.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they had the entrance, they had a bunch of Batista um like brands. I guess like Fanatics calls them like activations or whatever. So that's where you go uh to a particular brand and or you get a sample or you take a photo or something like that, and they try to you know sell you something. They had like Dodge Ram there, the supertroopers uh folks were there, they had like Mad Dog, uh Alcohol was there. Yeah, uh Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins, their coffee brand was there, they were selling that. So a bunch of yeah, a bunch of different things, and of course the superstore was there as well. But I I thought it went fairly well. I told you I was gonna buy some human monies, but then I was like, nah.

SPEAKER_01

I I looked at the set on WWE shop, they're not too terribly expensive for like $20 some dollars for some fake money, but still.

SPEAKER_03

Well, I saw on the sign that it said coming soon, and then I walked into the concourse and I saw that they were selling it, and I was like, Oh, I thought it was like a future thing, but uh if y'all had gotten closer seats, you could have gotten some free human monies when Danhausen was throwing it out.

SPEAKER_01

Oh it was like it was like one dollar bill, like real one dollar bills and Danhausen money mixed into it.

SPEAKER_03

Gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

Um who all I I know y'all met some of the wrestlers or did the interaction with some of the wrestlers. I think Ryan, you uh took a picture with Becky Lynch.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, so the to add on, to add on to uh like take the takeover, um that be Club W was there too, so there was a little small little section for ClubW for for the members. Um Shay got in. I also got in. Um we we uh so the they have you um sorry, they have unique merchandise that you can only get if you're a member. You can get it there or you can I guess order it online, I think, right, Shay?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

Okay, so you can they will which includes like the John Cena merch, um the the Never Seen 17 merch. Um you also get like a free drink if you're in there, you can get whatever you want, and and for some reason it's unscheduled, but like wrestlers will just pop into Club W for like two minutes for a quick couple quick pictures and they have to leave, and which they just pop in random, which is okay, which is cool, but it's like also like everyone was just lining up, they didn't know who was gonna be coming in there, and also they weren't gonna go through all those like people. There was like probably like 30 or 40 people in mine, only 10 to 20 people were gonna get a picture. Um, I did meet my fair share. Um, I met Becky Lynch, even though I waited in that really long line, but they were only really like so. I guess kids were getting like free pictures and free autograph stuff. Um, but if like you were an adult, you had to like buy some of their coffee. So I did buy a four-pack of the coffee, and Becky Lynch signed my coffee. It was in cans, and then you know how I'm not sure if you're familiar with like how four packs of cans can come in, like this. Um they snap on to this little plastic ring, the little plastic rings around the cards. Yeah, yeah. So she signed that because she was just probably signing stuff. I also had her sign um the this year's SummerSlam cards because we got a mean shake out a bunch. I pulled an out of 99 um Becky Lynch. I had her sign that got a picture of Becky Lynch. I only paid 25 bucks. I'm like, honestly, can't beat that. But um, I just missed out on Seth Rollins because Friday and Saturday he was there, but Sunday Becky was only there. Yeah, so um it would have been cool to get Seth and Becky, unfortunately. Just Becky, but like I'm not I don't want to say unfortunately. I like Becky Lynch is really cool just to just to do that all three days because she was there for a good while on Friday and Saturday, so I respect it.

SPEAKER_01

Right, we'll be there and doing all that.

SPEAKER_00

So I respect goes to Becky, but Seth is my favorite. Seth is my guy, so just to even get a picture with Seth would have been fucking awesome. Um, I met they had free photo ops. So um Tony D and Lizzie Rain were the first two I met on Friday because there was nobody online. I'm like, oh, let me get in line. Because I asked the two girls and I'm like, hey, like, what's this for? They're like, oh, they're doing free photo ops, like the first one's at 10 30, and I'm like, well, it's 1027. They're like, yeah, get in line. I'm like, okay. And there's like there was like two people in line at that at that moment, and then here comes Lizzie Rain and Tony D. I'm like, okay, cool. Um talk to you.

SPEAKER_01

I think I saw that you got uh you got your second photo op with Elton Ferns or Kit Wilson with Kit Wilson. That's what it was.

SPEAKER_00

No, no, Shea, Shea got a uh a photo op of Kit Wilson.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I'm glad you both have one with him now.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, true, true, true, true. I forgot about the WrestleMania one that I stood off and watched from the sidelines.

SPEAKER_00

Yes, because we weren't talking about that wasn't so so Shea Shay's actually in the end of the video that Kit Wilson uh that Did we posted, Shay's at the end of the video that of the meet and greet with Kill Kit Wilson. So I had I actually watched it in the Becky Lynch line while I was waiting. I said and and I'm watching, I'm like, oh, I wonder if Shay is in it, and then Shay's at the very end. I'm like, oh, this is awesome. They actually like they're recording all the meet and greets and stuff. Um I which I I the thing is I wasn't like so a lot of the a lot of the photo ops, um, so the Tatum Paxley photo op was cool. I don't think I'd pay more um for photo ops just because it's a quick like five seconds, unless like maybe you got something to say to the wrestler, maybe to like do or whatever, might be more of a like a mem like a memory or something like that. Like, but they're they're going through people like quick, quick, quick. Like so a photo op. But if you're maybe if you're doing an autograph, might be might be more worth it to you. But um, I was trying to enjoy the free meet and greets, but they kept on having Tony D and Lizzie Rain coming out, like, and then Miles Bourne was there every single day, and um nothing against them, it's just like it was the same names every day, and also those lines were just were getting really long. Um Nikki Bella was a free one for DoorDash Pass members, which I thought, like, oh, you know what? I'm not a big fan of Nicki Bella, but I'll go wait in that line. They capped that line out before even like 30 minutes before. I'm like, wow, okay. So I didn't do the meet and greet with Nikki Bella, but it was it was fun overall. I'm happy they they they definitely included like a lot of free stuff, including my uh the the ESPN jump that I did, which they did. Um I had actually for some reason I had it recorded from three angles because our my friend Noemi recorded me as well doing it, including Shay, and then I had someone holding my GoPro, so I had three angles from it, and I was also nervous doing that because like I'm a nervous person of doing something like that in front of a bunch of people.

SPEAKER_01

Um especially when you like slip and fall and botch. What I was rooting for when I first saw the video. I saw you standing on a rope, I was like, ah, I hope he faces it.

SPEAKER_00

Well it wasn't a rope, it wasn't a rope, it was just a platform. Yeah, but uh it was cool. Um, you get your own trading card, they put it in a little tops um thing. I wish I had it. I think I had I mean obviously you can't see it, but um, but it was really cool just to just to do that. Are you gonna sign up for yourself? Dude, I was gonna put up on eBay. Dude, this saw I actually saw someone's fanatics up on eBay actually. They're fanatics, uh New York City one. But it's it's really cool that uh ESPN is doing that. It wasn't tops, but it's ESPN doing it. They print your card out, they put it in a in a they don't even put it in a penny sleeve, but they put in a top loader for you. Um I like that. That was cool. I wanted to do it again. Um didn't have time. That line was super long. Um the in the entrance, I wish Shay would have done an entrance with me. We could have done pretty deadly, honestly. Me and you, Shay. We should have done pretty deadly.

SPEAKER_03

That's what I said, man.

SPEAKER_00

You were you were not gonna do an entrance, Shay.

SPEAKER_03

Shea literally said, I literally said, if I if I was to find another pretty deadly fan, because I was wearing my kit wilson shirt, I said I would actually go up there and do a pretty deadly entrance. I said that.

SPEAKER_01

Shea could have done Gunther, you know, just walk straight down the ramp.

SPEAKER_00

So I uh so I I I did Batista. The entrance is super cool. I did Batista. Um I didn't know they were they would actually record you. They literally printed out a thing, QR code, you can scan it. I'm like, that's badass, even though I had Shay recording me. Um so I did Batista on like Friday, and that was cool. And then like Sunday, I was like, you know what? Let me do another entrance because I had a club w thing and the club line was really short compared to like the really long line of just the regular. But another thing is Club W they have certain priorities, so I think with like the entrances, you can you can pretty much skip a line, and also um I think photo ops and autographs, I think you can skip a line if you're a member. There's something else maybe you can skip the line with if you're a club. Oh, and getting into the arena, you can pretty much uh quicker access getting into the um to it to the show. But I then I did Gunther, and I was like, because I was gonna do um Ethan Page because they had a bunch they had a bunch of names you can do for the entrance. I was like, you know what, let me do Gunther, because I don't think a lot of these people there's a lot of people just like watching the entrances. I'm like, you know what? Let me hear a bunch of boos. So let me do Gunther. Shea was happy because I told him I was gonna do Ethan Page, and me and Shay both like Ethan Page, and he was like, oh man, I was ready to see some Ethan Page and I didn't do it. Um but I was like, let me do Gunther, I'm gonna hear everyone started booing me. I didn't I just did it for the booze. But it was uh um it was a it was a fun time. I I like me and Shay spent a lot of time at the WWE Takeover, just it just for the vibes and hanging out and taking pictures everywhere and stuff like that. It was a really cool, um, really cool thing. Definitely uh for anyone who has not been to a big show, I'd recommend going just for the as long as they keep on making takeover free. It's definitely a cool place to hang out and you know, meet some wrestlers. Even if you're not paying to meet any wrestlers, they'll have free photo ops and or if Becky or someone like Becky does a pop-up like that or something, it would that would be a cool experience.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. All right. Then SummerSlam it is. Um how was US Bang Stadium? Was it was it like I know y'all b both been to several football games, stuff like that. The stadium itself did it fit the uh the event well? Was it a like a like? The Eagle Stadium, I didn't think was the greatest stadium. How did US Bank compare?

SPEAKER_03

So I always say two thumbs up to any stadium that has a roof.

SPEAKER_01

Fair.

SPEAKER_03

Because because I'm used to stadiums without roofs, and I'll pick comfort over I get well, I'll pick comfort over atmosphere like eight out of ten times.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair.

SPEAKER_03

And um I I actually like the stadium. It's uh it's freaking huge. If you like look at it from like the outside, it's freaking massive. Massive.

SPEAKER_01

Some of the some of the they did like the outside shots throughout the show, and you looking at it, I was like, Yeah, that place looks giant. I feel like it would take forever to get around that thing.

SPEAKER_03

Uh, but they had a they had a bunch of like concessions, like the concourses weren't too small. Uh seats were very comfortable. Like there was uh leg space. I felt like I wasn't like directly next to the the guy to the left of me, like we weren't bumping elbows or anything, like it felt like spacious.

SPEAKER_01

So the opposite of when we went to Mania.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

We were crammed in there, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And then we wounded up figuring out that we were in club level for the second night, and it was of it was nice, clean, very cool. I I liked it.

SPEAKER_00

I thought I don't think it was much more of a club level. It was just um because I feel like when if it's a club level, and it didn't it felt like a club level, but we were um uh uh like right above uh like the the concessions and stuff, it was a lot more open and stuff, so we didn't realistically have to go in any other concourse, we could have even entered in through over there too. Pretty sure there was an entrance over there, um, which we didn't know about until after the fact, but uh we could have had free refills the whole damn time too for night one if we wanted to, and we didn't know that.

SPEAKER_01

Is that where you got your uh F5 burger from?

SPEAKER_00

No, I got that from another concession. It was the TLC. What what was the F5 burger? The F5 burger was I just had it pulled up for all the ingredients because I couldn't remember, but um oh right here. It was a double smash patty, uh little bacon cheeseburger with buffalo cheese curds, large onion ring, ranch dressing on a broch bun.

SPEAKER_01

Sounds delicious. It was. Yeah, I I would have I'm not an onion rings person, but the rest of that I think I would have fucked up. I would be that would be nothing.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, uh I I told Shay, I'm like, you know what, I'm gonna get some food review content. I was gonna do the the Trick Willie uh um like turkey leg? That was like mac and cheese turkey leg, and I'm like, I'm very picky with mac and cheese, so I didn't I didn't want to waste $30 on mac and cheese and turkey leg because I didn't know if it was gonna be good mac and cheese or not. And then it could have been good mac and cheese, but I wasn't ever gonna risk it.

SPEAKER_01

That's fair. Alright, um, what did y'all think about the stage setup for the show?

SPEAKER_03

It was okay. It was okay. A lot better than last year. Last year just being like a couple like flat screens. At least they actually had some character behind it this time.

SPEAKER_01

I was gonna say that from on from the TV perspective, it looked like it was plenty or able to see plenty while also having that character on the sides. So it it felt uh to me like better than they have been doing.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, so so they needed something large and wide to cover up the seats that they weren't using. Right. Because they did cut off a percentage of the stadium, they didn't go as far back as they normally would to the the far end of the like concourse level, right? So like the end zone area. So they cut a portion of that off, and they needed something large enough to cover that that space. So I think they did a good job doing that, because from a TV perspective, you wouldn't even have known that that was cut off, and plus it had the I guess the WB title theme.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Which was pretty cool on TV.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so on TV you could occasionally they go to a shot where you could tell, like, okay, maybe the maybe they're using three-fourths of the stadium, two-thirds of the stadium, something like that. You could you could tell that it was cut somewhere, but for the most part, unless you were paying attention on those few cuts that way, it it was hard to tell.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I also like that they had um they kept the competitors up on the screen, it seemed. Like you the the promo pictures were up there, um, which to me was a real a little bit of a visual plus. I like that.

SPEAKER_03

Did you notice that they did that on Raw too?

SPEAKER_01

Um Raw last night.

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

I didn't watch it. I didn't see that.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they did that on Raw, so I think that's probably what they're gonna start doing going forward.

SPEAKER_01

Which which I like. That's a good visual plus. I mean, it's it's not taking away from anything, but you know, also just adds that a little bit more than just a blank screen showing the Raw logo the whole time.

SPEAKER_03

Agreed.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Um, I guess we'll get into the SummerSlam card itself. Uh not gonna really go like in deep dives on matches or anything. There might be a question about the uh something that happened in the match. Some of them we might actually talk about the matches more. Um, but the first one, I think the first match of the night was of Saturday night was Live and EO. I don't know how well some of the moves y'all could actually see in the crowd, depending on where you sat. But could y'all tell how that EO hand spring off the oblivion looked?

SPEAKER_03

Like something you never see on the screen, or oh yeah, everybody, everybody popped for that.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. I said watching it on TV, they I they didn't have the best angle, like you could tell that's what she did, but I feel like they could have had a better camera angle to show it. So at first I was like, did that like botch or something? And then when I rewatched it, I was like, oh no, she hand sprung out of that. That was cool, but it wasn't like the easiest to tell the first time I saw it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, because originally I was like, oh no freaking way, like she's gonna take this oblivion, and then that's gonna be the end of the match, and then she flipped out of it, and everybody's like, Oh my gosh, right? But then they just went right back into it. But at least there was a falsey there, right? To kind of like trick us out of it.

SPEAKER_01

Right. I say, yeah, that instead of it being another false pin, it was a different way of getting to it. So that that was not a bad move, in my opinion. Yeah. Um, what did y'all think about the Uso's Gears of War entrance? Man, look.

SPEAKER_00

Me and Shay are so disappointed in that.

SPEAKER_01

That was that to me, that was one of the two lamest entrances of SummerSlam. We'll get to it.

SPEAKER_03

But this is the problem though, because Ryan had just showed me an ad for Gears of War E Day, and it was Solo Sokoa.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And so then they give it to the Usos.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. So, dude, I love Gears of War, and I'm loving Solos like face runner. I'm like, oh my god, oh my god, solo coming out of some Gears of War. This is about to be some badass stuff, and I'm like, oh no, but it's the Usos. Like, what is it? Like, I don't get me wrong, Usos always have some cool attires or something like that. But like, dude, come on, give Solo the damn Gears of War entrance.

SPEAKER_01

I agree. But speaking of Solo, I didn't have this in my thing, but thinking about it now, what was the reaction when Solo ran it back to do the Oh dude, everyone loved it.

SPEAKER_00

Everyone loved it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, I'm sure that was a good, like, funny pop. When when I was watching and I saw him like look at Jay, he like looks and smirks, and I'm like, oh, he's about to do this, isn't he? And as soon as he looked at the camera and started going, I was like, Yes, that's great. Good timing. Um when Royce made his entrance, from the TV perspective, it sounded like no reaction.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, there was none.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, it's but I a lot of people are probably still not used to Royce Keys. So it's like a he's like a mm.

SPEAKER_01

And even though didn't get much of a reaction, but then when LA came out, I was like, okay, there's the reaction.

SPEAKER_03

Has Royce Keys gotten a single promo since he debuted on SmackDown where he has explained anything about himself, his background, anything in front of a live audience?

SPEAKER_00

No, I'm not sure. I don't think so.

SPEAKER_03

So, how do you expect the crowd to just connect to him if he's not in front of the live audience connecting with the people?

SPEAKER_01

That's fair. That is fair. Like it's unless they give him that opportunity, then he's not doesn't have a chance to seize it, kind of thing. Um move down to Aldous and Gunther. Uh Aldous had a in my opinion, they picked a great theme entrance for him for a live show. Can't go wrong with an Oasis song. And uh from the TV perspective, he delivered in that match. How did the crowd feel about him?

SPEAKER_00

You heard it, we were chanting, you you still got it, and everyone was just loving it.

SPEAKER_03

I was kind of on the fence about it. Because to me, it it looked kind of sluggish.

SPEAKER_01

Well, the guy hadn't wrestled in three years.

SPEAKER_03

I know, I know, but uh it looked sluggish to me, but that was from my like live perspective. But people around me were saying, you know, he looked really good, like so I don't know, maybe it was just me.

SPEAKER_00

He's also still a little rusty, you gotta understand, like, he hasn't wrestled in a couple years, yeah. But for the first time in those years, he did I mean he went out there and still, yeah. I I did feel a little underwhelmed. I feel like the match could have been more. I mean, they did give him like what, like a 15-minute match.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you don't put somebody up again, or especially in that situation, in Aldous' situation, you don't put somebody up against Gunther expecting them to have a barn burner. It's going to be more of a slow-paced kind of match. So they they can do the wear and tear without having to have much pizzazz to it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, it depends on the the opponent, too. Yeah. Because you know how well he works with smaller guys.

SPEAKER_01

Right. But that's what I'm saying. In that can that situation specifically, you have Aldous who's not a smaller guy, who's been out of the ring for years. It makes sense they paired him with Gunther so he could have a slower match, not have to worry about going 110% kind of thing to put on a great match.

SPEAKER_03

I guess personally I was thinking more of a fight, more so than a general match.

SPEAKER_01

And it seemed like it at points that it got scrappy, like they started chopping more and and stuff like that, but then it it would only be in that for like 15 seconds or so, and then they'd move on to something else.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I'm sure Shay was uh really happy with Fatal Influence's performance.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_01

They looked great, all three of them looked great.

SPEAKER_03

Um can't say the same for the other team.

SPEAKER_01

No, they breed tore her labrum early in the match, and that essentially took her out of it. Um, she like broke her uh skepticular or whatever it's called. Something like that. But she was apparently sent straight to the hospital as soon as she got to the back. Um gosh. Uh right call turn in the bellow's heel.

SPEAKER_03

I I guess. I mean, they work better as heels. Especially if you're gonna have Brie and Nikki together, right? You have to have Brie as a heel so she can follow behind Nikki.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, and it's unfortunate that that Brie got hurt because apparently the whole point of them turning heel on Paige then was to set up something that we had said something about months ago. AJ and Paige teaming. Yeah, that was going to be the setup for them getting together. So now who knows? Brie's gonna be out for a long time, so who knows if that's even gonna happen.

SPEAKER_03

In my brain, this would be the perfect opportunity for them to either bring somebody in or elevate somebody to be like the understudy of Nikki Bella.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

So kind of like when Natty first took on Maxine as her understudy kind of thing, and then I'm thinking more of like a Trish and Zoe type deal.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that makes sense.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, somebody who can work.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, yeah. Um yeah, not sure who that would be. Apparently, Lola's coming up, but I definitely don't want Lola too.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no. Don't do that.

SPEAKER_01

Uh um, Podi's entrance. That felt so fucking stupid on TV.

SPEAKER_03

It looked so cool though.

SPEAKER_01

Did it okay, so it was better in person than it was on TV?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, the the choosing of the characters and all that stuff.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so that part, yeah, that part looked alright. It was everything the the video ahead of it looked cool. It was when it actually got to the point of Cody being out there that it was like it didn't follow up to me. It didn't, it didn't it was like they set the stage and then they they let it just die.

SPEAKER_00

It would have been cool if he came out dresses guy.

SPEAKER_01

So I mean he sort of he did the his his crown thing had the the blowout hairstyle on it.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, did it?

SPEAKER_01

I'm not sure if that was visual enough, and then he wore his gear was camo. So he semi tried to do it, but it it just didn't it didn't work to me.

SPEAKER_03

So where was the Humvee and the soldiers with the guns?

SPEAKER_01

Right, like they could have done something like that and it'd have been cooler, like they could have played into it further. TV wise, it just it didn't to me it did not it did not sell through the TV.

SPEAKER_03

I agree, I agree with that. I agree with that, yeah.

SPEAKER_01

But uh in that match, the I guess the important part was Randy Orton returned.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I feel like he should have just laid them both out, to be honest. They're going straight back to him versus Cody, which I get because since the end of it of that feud was marred by the Pat McAfee stuff, but um it sounded like on the TV you could tell he was coming. Because I guess he ran in from the where y'all were facing, he ran in from the left corner, yeah. And and you could hear the crowd building by the camera as he was running in.

SPEAKER_00

You hear the uh because he didn't have no like no like he didn't have no jacket to cover on. He literally sprinted, he was sprinting, yeah. So everyone was seeing him from that side of the stadium.

SPEAKER_01

Um but when he hit the RKO, I'm sure that went over well with the crowd. Never doesn't go over with the crowd. And then he again, I don't know if y'all could see it in person, but he like he was doing his his shaking thing that he does, and then he just pauses and winks at the camera and then leaves. But I'm sure like I said, the crowd, the crowd probably pop for that big time. Umbo and Brock, main events. Right call? Did that feel like the right call in the stadium for those two to finish the show?

SPEAKER_03

I mean, I know why they did it, it wasn't the best match of the night, but I understand that they did it for Brock's um uh one, Brock was home, right? So that was important to the crowd, but at the same time, you wanted Oba to be the last guy that you saw at the end of the night because they passed the torch. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um, so when it felt like it was slow building on the on TV. Did Brock like go all the way up the ramp like he was leaving and then turn around and come back?

SPEAKER_03

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Um apparently that was off script. He just got back in the ring and chose to do that.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

Um yeah, that's what I've what I've heard was that was not the the show was supposed to end with Obus Pose. And then something happened where Brock's like, no, I'm going back down there. Uh on TV it felt like it was a real genuine moment. Did that come off in the stadium as a genuine moment?

SPEAKER_03

I think so.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Did it did it feel scripted in the in the stadium? Like sometimes you can just tell. Like that was that was someone in character compared to someone being real.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't even know if it was still on TV.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, neither did I cause because we we don't know. Gotcha. We don't know because I mean we can watch the we can watch the mod like the the monitor or like the the screen, and we still won't know because they're always gonna be filming.

SPEAKER_01

Right. They'll film well past when they need to. Um so that I'm guessing the stadium overall was well behind oba, even being in Minnesota for Brock.

SPEAKER_03

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, there was a lot of Oba fans. I mean, I I saw Oba shirts everywhere.

SPEAKER_01

I people they did an awesome job uh on camera when he was doing his entrance of cutting to the crowd doing the oba walk, and just to see that many people in the crowd doing it, I was like, Yeah, he's he's he's at that over level where they can do anything they want to with him at this point.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um I guess we'll move on to night two. Uh when Aldous came out to interrupt to say that he was adding people to that match. Were y'all expecting Gunther at that point, or were y'all expecting somebody else? Like were there even in the crowd? I didn't know. When he first came out and said he was adding somebody, I was like, oh crap, it's he's gonna add Gunther. Which did that make sense? Did it make sense to anyone for him to add Gunther after fighting him the night before?

SPEAKER_03

Not to me. No, I didn't think so.

SPEAKER_00

So I see where it came. Um, but it it was like it reminded me of WrestleMania. It was a 34 in Orlando, 33 or 34 with the latter match? 33?

SPEAKER_03

Four.

SPEAKER_01

Was it four?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, New Orleans. Oh, wait, no, no.

SPEAKER_00

So it it reminded me of that, and then when Nicole's like, wait a minute, I got still not done anything, guys. I'm like, it's it's just Kevin Owens because I already saw like we already saw the return of Randy Orton. I already was I'm like, I I saw something about Kevin Owens returning soon too. I'm like, well shit, it's gotta be Kevin Owens.

SPEAKER_02

Right.

SPEAKER_00

And so the the Kevin Owens return reminded me of the Hardy's return because Kevin Owens has been gone for so long. We all love Kevin Owens, and I don't think he missed a beat. Yeah, he looked great. No, I'm gonna I'm gonna say this, and I'm like, I told I was even even I was telling Shed even before Gunther and Kevin Owens got added, I'm hoping Finn Balor wins. Because if he wins, he needs to go on and win the title. He doesn't have like he needs it. If not, then there that matches for nothing. And now that I even said like this feta format, whoever wins needs to go on and win the title. I don't like there's no need for Punk to be holding on to it, especially with that main event scene. Orton's back, Kevin Owens is back, Gunther's in the like we have a big main event scene. I don't care if we have transitional champions, I don't care if we have title changes, but like that fate, like we have a big main event scene. We need to capitalize on it. If we have some title flops here and there, so be it. But like it's everyone's like everyone has a reason to be in this title picture right now, and Kevin, like I'm I'm I love Kevin Owen winning. I wish it went to Finn Balor, but I I still feel like Finn Balor will get a title reign. If not, then that's it is what it is. But that title, like Kevin Owens should go on and beat Punk.

SPEAKER_01

So that was part of my next question. Was it too soon for Kevin Owens to be the number one contender? Did it yes and no make sense to just immediately have him number one contender when he comes back?

SPEAKER_03

Um I mean you kind of always want the unexpected, especially in today's wrestling. It is very hard to shock the the audience. So I think from that perspective, I think it worked really well. Um I do know that Punk and Owens have a history going back to ROH.

SPEAKER_01

ROH, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Right? And they can they can capitalize on that like right now.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

And with them resetting everything after SummerSlam, I feel like after Raw on Monday, Raw was actually a really solid episode, by the way. But I think SmackDown is the show. To watch this week because there's so many moving pieces coming out of things that happened on the SmackDown roster. Both I think both shows are gonna do some resetting for the most part. And I think they have like a really big shot at making something really special with Punk and Owens on Friday. If that's what they're doing and we're resetting everything and we're starting fresh and we're hitting it hot, then it was definitely the right move, in my in my opinion.

SPEAKER_01

Makes sense. Unfortunately, I think it's Kevin will fight punk, not win the title. We'll go back into KO and Sammy again.

SPEAKER_03

Oh jeez.

SPEAKER_01

Because Sammy will be like, oh, I got screwed again. I got my opportunity fucked over. So either he'll go after Aldis or he'll go after KO. But speaking of KO and Sammy, are they this generation's Sean and Triple H in terms of they can be feuding, they can be best friends, they can be feuding, they can be best friends, like it just depending on how the creative feels at that moment, whether they're together or against each other.

SPEAKER_03

I think it's a solid comparison.

unknown

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean that's what that's what when I when I first saw them stare down, I was like, alright, KO's last match was that one with Sammy before with the what street fight I think it was they had. Um and I was like, all right, are they gonna fight? Are they gonna hug? Like what's gonna happen? So as soon as they hugged, I was like, Yeah, that just feels like Triple H and Sean to me.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Like the they it doesn't matter what the last thing was that happened with them. In that moment, they were like, Alright, we're best friends, we're gonna hug. Now let's fight. Um but I was trying to think of other comparisons, and that was just the one that that to me popped in my head was that it seems like them to me. Um I guess I'm gonna backtrack slightly to in order to ask my next question. For the Saturday night or Saturday night's show, was it one of those like did it feel high momentum throughout the night, or was it like too many lulls to it? How was the energy like across the show?

SPEAKER_03

I didn't feel high momentum throughout the whole night. Okay, personally.

SPEAKER_01

So that gets me onto the Sunday. The Sunday show felt like real high, real low, real high, kind of thing. Like it felt like they were trying to do a wave, the real low being Corbin winning the US title.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_01

And and after seeing the whole the way the show played out, it semi-made sense to me why they did it. They couldn't have every match be a high.

SPEAKER_03

But um yeah, so the interesting interesting thing to me was when Big E and Oh my gosh, Tessator would do a cut-in before every match and announce whatever the next match is, then they run an ad and then the match would start, right? When they put the Gunther and Aldous match on the screen, like a bunch of people went to the concessions or the bathroom.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

And I thought that was very interesting. And that could have been because the other matches that were coming after it, uh, maybe they wanted to see those matches more, so that was the match that they felt that they could jump out, but the six woman tag was after that, so I don't know.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, there was I can't remember on night two, there was a moment like that too, where they was cut to them, and then they actually showed the crowd, and as they were announcing what match was next, you could just see waves of people walking out. Yeah, and I was like, okay, like and I it might have been the uh Danhausen Dominic match.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe because that's when I got up and left.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it felt I think that was what it was, which that was the the interference cartoony match I expected it to be. I don't really have any questions on that. I just just want to move on past that one. Um start this next one off by prefacing with fuck Michael Hayes. Chelsea Green had her moment, and it it came off on TV as the whole stadium was excited for her. How was the energy for that moment?

SPEAKER_03

Like you said.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. Like it seemed could could you tell watching it on TV when when they like swept her legs and she was laying off the ladder with her teeth hooked, like it felt like okay, she's winning this match. They're not leaving her there for nothing. Was that like in the arena? I felt like I would assume the energy was building, just anticipating her sitting up.

SPEAKER_03

Well, Ryan believed it before I did, because I didn't believe it.

SPEAKER_00

So I'm not the biggest Chelsea Green fan, but just to like be in that stadium and like majority of the people wanted her to win, and they were like cheering her on. I'm like, you know what? Honestly, Chelsea Green does deserve this. She's been working hard, she's been fired by W like what twice?

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_00

And for her to like get this moment literally at the top of the ladder, that's literally peak, is the actually grab a championship from the top of the ladder and look at the all the people. Like, I can only imagine what Chelsea Green was literally like feeling, and with all these people cheering her on at the top of the ladder, all these people just like you know, and she has the championship in her hands, and like what else what more peak can you get? You know, Matt Matt Cardona, her boyfriend or husband or whatever, at this point, had the same thing. I mean, like, that's peak right there when everyone's cheering you on and you win the title, and everyone like that that you can't get any better than that. And I don't think anyone else would have gotten that reaction besides Chelsea Green. And and Chelsea is already even Tiffany being in her hometown, she wouldn't have got that reaction.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's fair. And and Chelsea's already had a longer title ring than Matt did when he had that moment.

SPEAKER_02

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

Um, I saw this post that was like, look back a year ago when Tiffy was the women's champion and Chelsea was the US champion, and how it's now flipped.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And it was just a cool like moment to think, like, oh, that's cool that they've that not so much that Tiffy fell down the card per se, but that Chelsea got there. And it it did come off on TV as as the crowd being really happy for her. Whether that was who they wanted to win or not, they were still happy for her having that moment. Um and I guess the same thing could be said for Gable. It seemed like the crowd was really happy for him, but did the match actually live up to the expectations?

SPEAKER_03

No, it was too short.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but it didn't feel like a like it should have for Gable's moment.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's one of those matches where you run it on SummerSlam and then you run a rematch afterwards, and the re the rematch is almost always better than the original.

SPEAKER_01

And then they had to to ruin his moment, in my opinion, when he's in the ring with his family by sending the root beer dog up there to give him fruit.

SPEAKER_03

Oh gosh.

SPEAKER_01

I was like, can't miss an opportunity for uh for a sponsor plug.

SPEAKER_03

There were some people that thought that it was somebody in a a suit and they were gonna attack him with the family interview.

SPEAKER_01

At first I thought so too, to be honest. I was like, I was like, oh, he just wanted, he finally did this. Could this be like a Creed brother attacking him or something and turning off him? But um uh both of those instances well, the first three instances, I guess KO, Chelsea, and Gable, all three highs, real big highs for the show. Um, and I'm sure it felt I don't know. Uh y'all were there. How would you or in comparison to like Cody finishing his story at Mania? Was it that same kind of feeling in the arena?

SPEAKER_03

For which match?

SPEAKER_01

For any of those three. KO coming back, Chelsea winning her match, then didn't quite hit the levels of Cody finishing his story.

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

Gotcha. Well, I mean, I guess that makes sense. There was also half the amount of people in there.

SPEAKER_00

Um Reigns and Rollins. Talking about finishing stories. Too slow. You think it was too slow?

SPEAKER_03

Too slow.

SPEAKER_01

I think they tasted it very well for the sports.

SPEAKER_03

I think I think my taste for matches has changed over the years. Um like I like I understand like the anticipation and the build-up between like a lot of these spots, but to me it was like a notch too slow.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that's I guess fair. How I mean he when Roman picked up the chair, did y'all think he was actually going to hit Seth at that point?

SPEAKER_00

No, I don't remember. Yeah, they were they were they were dragging it on too long. I didn't think no one was gonna get hit the chair. This was a match where there was no bloodline, no no BS besides the ref bump, but they didn't really utilize the ref bump, so right.

SPEAKER_01

Could y'all catch? I I guess in the stadium it might have been hard. Could y'all catch like that they show on the screen Roman talking to him during the match? Or anything like that? Because there was a spot where they were both like sitting on their knees in front of each other, and Seth said something to him like, is this the moment when you're when your family comes down and jumps me and beats my ass? And Roman was like, No, this is me and you, it's it's just me and you. We're not doing that shit. Um and then also, like, I don't know if y'all could see when Roman was against the ropes and Seth had gotten the chair. I don't know if they were showing y'all on the screen the camera angle they were showing us, but they kept showing Roman and you could clearly tell that he was looking up at the Tron.

SPEAKER_03

Oh yes. Yeah, yes. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Um did the I didn't I didn't feel like it came or like if it did happen, it didn't feel like it came across on TV. The Ambrose Moxley tribute during the mash, was that go over in the stadium? Like did the the people actually react to it? I did, yeah, a little bit. I th I felt like that would have been but with the big of wrestling fans that get that go to those kind of shows, I feel like they would have caught that and cheered more for it than what it felt like it from the TV.

SPEAKER_00

I know, I know I I did watch that clip back. I know Cole mentioned it. He he named dropped Dean Ambrose on the commentary. I I like that little touch to it though.

SPEAKER_03

Well, as per usual, WWE fans don't remember what happened last month. But let alone five years ago.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but but did they react to the fist bump at the end? Uh I wasn't there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, did they? I don't even I want to say they did, but it wasn't.

SPEAKER_00

I I had a pee really bad, so I was like, yeah, I'll be I'm gonna meet you guys at the top.

SPEAKER_03

No, I watched that part. I watched that part, and but but it doesn't really stand out in my head other than me understanding the history. Gotcha.

SPEAKER_01

So like that's one of those things where watching it on TV that felt a lot more important than I guess it did in the stadium.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

And the commentary obviously helps because they can put it in the context of what's going on. Correct. Correct. Um so that's the show overall. Would y'all want to grade SummerSlam or grade the experience overall?

SPEAKER_00

Uh I'll grade I'm gonna grade the X my experience from the whole entire weekend. Uh just being there live, I'm gonna grade it an A plus.

SPEAKER_01

Alright. I mean it felt the watching the TV or watching it on TV, it did feel like if you were there, you could have enjoyed everything but Corbin winning. Like it did feel like it was a good show overall. Um, but Jay.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Minneapolis gets an A. Um WWE for the infrastructure and everything around SummerSlam gets an A. SummerSlam itself gets like a B minus.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. That's fine.

SPEAKER_03

From a show perspective. Because you know, I like one, I like more matches on the card, I like less ads, and I like longer uh matches for important matches. That's fair. Yeah.

SPEAKER_00

I uh I do want to um, I know we are we've been dragging this out. I know this is a little bit longer episode than usual, but we did miss a good little chunk of the weekend, and I wanted to touch on it and also give a few shout-outs before we continue or before we end. Go for it. Um we did go to WrestleCon, and it was very convenient that the convention center, like I was talking about the skywalks earlier. The sky, there's a skywalk that brings you right into the convention center where WrestleCon was. So it was literally like a five-minute walk, not even, because they were right next to each other. So shout out to WrestleCon and or whoever decided to literally make WrestleCon and take over right next to each other. Um, I filmed some little bit of content with Kurt Angle. I wouldn't say content, it was just um had a little talk with Kurt Engle because there was a little bit of family background. Kurt Engel met my uncle 30 years ago before Kurt Engel did the Olympics. Um so I showed him a picture of it. It was a picture of my uncle and him, literally like young Kurt Engle. Um talked with Zoe Stark for a little bit. Um Shay got a picture with Zoe Stark. Actually, she was really cool to talk to. We talked about like 10 minutes. It was really cool. Um also finally got to finish my story and meet Teddy Biassi Jr. in person. Um, he was really cool. I got I pick out a picture with uh senior and junior, and I got a I got um senior's autograph on an out of 10 card.

SPEAKER_01

Did you ask Junior if you could interview him?

SPEAKER_00

Um I I kind of already have. I I can always text him. But um it was cool. I got that content coming out uh on my YouTube. That video probably I would like to try and post that tomorrow actually, as of this recording. Um, so that that was really cool. WrestleCon was was was fun. Um but yeah, I wanted to touch on that. WrestleCon was really cool, it was very convenient, a lot of wrestlers there.

SPEAKER_01

Ryan.

SPEAKER_00

Yes.

SPEAKER_01

You know, when you say I'm gonna post this onto my YouTube, you should say what your YouTube is so that people can go watch that.

SPEAKER_00

Ryan T D on YouTube. There you go. Um, but yes, that video would I would like for it to be up tomorrow. Um, because I'm gonna work on it tonight and uh tomorrow morning before I post it. Um would like to shout out um Rockstar Energy for fueling my weekend because it was free energy drinks all weekend through through WrestleCon. Um did meet up. I we also came across um on the Mark Wrestling podcast. They were just chilling, met that I've knew I've seen them before. Um I want to shout them out. Also, my buddy Cal, who is I met up with him for the first time. My buddy Cal who does Friends of the Squared Circle. Wanted to give them a shout out as well. It was a fun weekend, met up with a lot of people and people who love to network. I'm one of them. So I even know I'm a shy person to talk to, but once I get out of my comfort zone getting to meet new people, it's fun to go to events like this just to network and meet new people. So shout out to all of them people.

SPEAKER_01

I want to shout out the airline that delayed Ryan's flight multiple times so that I didn't have to talk to him as soon. Okay, saved me the whole day of having to deal with him.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah, shout out Delta Airlines. Also, I didn't have no damn TV in front of me either. I sent a damn picture to Shay. I was like, there's no seat in front of me, so I have no no TV.

SPEAKER_01

Like the if the door had blown out of that airplane, Ryan was first to go. Yeah, pretty much.

SPEAKER_00

Yeah. Apparently it was an emergency exit row that was in front of me. So the seat in front of me was gone. So because I sit next to these down next down next to these two kids. Like, well, I've never seen that before. And I'm like, the TV's so far away, like I don't have freaking really long arms like a like a T-Rex. I can't. But yeah, fun weekend. Shout out to everyone that I met. It was really fun weekend. I would do it again for sure.

SPEAKER_01

I'm glad y'all enjoyed your time up there, and that was a great experience overall. Maybe, maybe the three of us will get to go to Royal Royal Rumble. I'm sure at least the two of you will.

SPEAKER_00

Well, me and Shay, I think we've already agreed to do the Rumble.

SPEAKER_03

Only because it's Phoenix.

SPEAKER_00

Only because Phoenix, it's Glendale.

SPEAKER_03

That's same thing.

SPEAKER_00

Same thing? Oh, okay. Okay. I don't know. I've never been there. It's gonna be it's gonna be a new state unlocked for me.

SPEAKER_01

So I've never gone any further west than Ohio, so that's uh if I manage to go, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Wow, okay.

SPEAKER_00

Oh yeah, Glendale is in Phoenix. That's crazy. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Ryan's geography lesson for the day. For real. Sorry.

SPEAKER_00

Hey, guys, I've never been up there. I've never been up there. It's it's over there. Over there. Oh, sorry. It's not up there, it's over there. It's southwest.

SPEAKER_01

I do not know my geography. I'm sorry, guys.

SPEAKER_03

Clearly.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Next week.

SPEAKER_00

Well, I guess for Ryan it is up there because he's in Florida. So I don't know. That is true. That is true. Everything's up. Well, everything's up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's fair. But we shall see. I uh could potentially go to Raw Monday. I'm not sure if I'm going to yet. Go. And then apparently Liv Morgan is doing like a signing at um at a uh whatever that mobile thing is that sponsors WWE right now, the phone thing.

SPEAKER_00

Dude, me and me and me and Shay, like I'm not if I kind of would have known ahead of time I would have done it, but but Liv was doing a meet and greet at one of the Walmarts in uh Minneapolis. And with a $20 purchase of any WE merch, you get the you get the Liv Morgan and Chucky Mattel set for free. And Liv was signing them, I'm pretty sure. I'm like, damn, that's crazy. That was a crazy deal. I'm not sure if you've seen it yet, Brooks, but the the the Liv Morgan and Chucky figure, yeah, they were giving them out for free.

SPEAKER_01

That's awesome. All right, well, that that should be just about covered. Shay, you want to wrap us up?

SPEAKER_03

Of course. All right, guys. No, but thanks for listening to another episode of the Three Stage of the Marks podcast. This is Shay on behalf of Ryan and Brooks, the three marks. Later, Mark.
